Your Weight on the Moon
Moon Mass Conversions
While your 'mass' is the same everywhere in the universe, your 'weight' is a force that changes depending on the
gravitation field in which you are standing. While on earth, when you stand on a bathroom
scale, when the scale tells you your 'weight', it is really your mass. Inside the scale, it is calibrated to calculate your
mass based on Earth's gravitional rate of acceleration - which is a constant 9.81-m/s² (or 32.17-ft/s²).
We can do a similar conversion for the moon. On the moon, the rate of acceleration is 1.63-m/s² which is 1/6th that of earth. You can use this calculator to find your weight on the moon.
